Colleagues and students

The UFS Library and Information Services pledges to do the best to assist during this time of the COVID 19 pandemic. You are requested to continue your interaction with our librarians through email, ask a librarian or live chat. We are also available to answer questions through messenger on the library Facebook page.

Please take note of the following:

  • All due dates for borrowed materials will be automatically extended, no late fines will be applied, and patrons can return materials when libraries reopen.
  • Please note that the Library is ready to process your copyright requests in preparation for information resources for online teaching. Contact person is Charlie Molepo or you can talk to your Information Librarian.
  • Note that we have activated a LiveChat service. You are more than welcome to use it as the first contact for general and specific service requests. The link is https://ufs.libanswers.com/index.php
  • Inter-library loans service is still up and running. Our colleague, Jonas Mogopodi is at your service, working from home.
  • The UFS Library & Information Services online resources have been zero-rated by the University of the Free State. This means they are exempted from data fees by the four major mobile providers: Vodacom, Cell C, MTN and Telkom Mobile. Go through the https://myaccess.ufs.ac.za platform.
  •

We will be able provide assistance from 07:45-16:30 through:

  • Skype
  •  Ask a Librarian link on the library webpage
  • Live chat and
  • Email
