Like traditional preservation and conservation are to books, so is digital preservation to digital assets. Mould can destroy a book, but the very technology used to create and store our digital assets is also a threat to them. This guide covers the many faces of digital preservation, including the terms, concepts, models, standards, actions, risks and tools. Digital preservation is a broad field that encompasses everything from project management (e.g. creating data management plans for a research project) to technical skills (e.g. file migration).
