Dr Ekaete Benedict is a lecturer in Business Management. Her work includes ressearch in entrepreneurship and small business management with a specific interest in the growth and development of small, medium and micro enterprises (SMMEs) in emerging economies.

One of her most influential articles, Entrepreneurship training and poverty alleviation: Empowering the poor in the Eastern Free State of South Africa was cited 36 times since 2010.
