Circulation Services

The main purpose of Circulation/Lending services is for issuing and receiving of library books, and for other services pertinent to the Lending section. A service that makes the circulation of library materials possible, by implementing procedures for the lending and receipt of library materials.

Self-Check Out System

  • Its a system that library users can use to borrow library books – by issuing out library books on their own (self-help).
  • It is located in front of the Circulation Desk - Level 3, in the Sasol Library, Bloemfontein Campus.
  • A guide card is located next to the system to show library users how to follow the steps in order to utilise the system.

Book Drop-off boxes
 

UFS Sasol Library has provided two Book Drop-off boxes that are operating for 24 hours.

  • One Book Drop-off box is located and facing the parking area and the other one is facing the Thakaneng Bridge.
  • These Book Drop-off boxes facilitate library users to return library books at any time.

They are emptied on a daily basis during weekdays

Library Opening Hours

Library hours shall be revised annually and made available on the Library web page. Currently Library hours are as follows:

         During Semester

  • Weekdays (Mondays – Fridays)        08:00 – 22:00
  • Wednesdays                                      09:00 – 22:00
  • Saturdays                                          09:00 – 13:00 
  • Sundays and Public holidays            Closed

        During Recess

  • Mondays to Fridays:            08:00 – 18:30
  • Saturdays:                           09:00 – 13:00
  • Public holidays:                   Closed

        During   Examinations

  • Open 24 hours, seven days per week, until the examinations end (24/7).
