What is Scite_?

Scite is a tool for discovering and understanding research.

Seeing how an article has been cited is vastly more useful than simply seeing how many times an article has been cited. With scite, researchers can more effectively discover and evaluate research articles by directly seeing what subsequent publications say about their findings through citation statements -- the in-text references from papers where citations happen.

Is it free?

No. A monthly subscription apply. A free trial is available for seven (7) that requires credit card details.

Is it user-friendly?

It is easy to log in with a Google account or create a new account. There is a simple search bar to search by title, author, keywords or DOI, and results can be organised in Dashboards. An advanced search query box is available. It also has a browser extension and a Zotero plugin.

How can Scite be used in the UFS context?

It is useful for literature reviews and can summarise literature and quickly identify publications both valuable and discredited for their research. Scite will give you research statements that are related to the research question. From there, you can find more research. You can also use Citation Statements to find research statements and their citations.
